How Technology effects North America. U.S. Wage Trends
How Technology effects North America. U.S. Wage Trends The microeconomic picture of the U.S. has changed immensely since 1973, and the trendsare proving to be consistently downward for the nation's high school graduates and highschool drop-outs. 'Of all the reasons given for the wage squeeze - internationalcompetition, technology, deregulation, the decline of unions and defense cuts - technologyis probably the most critical. It has favored the educated and the skilled,' says M. B.Zuckerman, editor-in-chief of U.S. News World Report (7/31/95). Since 1973, wagesadjusted for inflation have declined by about a quarter for high school dropouts, by a sixthfor high school graduates, and by about 7% for those with some college education. Onlythe wages of college graduates are up.Of the fastest growing technical jobs, software engineering tops the list. Carnegie MellonUniversity reports, 'recruitment of it's software engineering students is up this year by over20%.' All engineering jobs are paying well, proving that highly skilled labor is whate mployers want! 'There is clear evidence that the supply of workers in the [unskilled labor]categories already exceeds the demand for their services,' says L.United StatesMishel, Research Directorof Welfare Reform Network. In view of these facts, I wonder if these trends are good or bad for society. 'The danger ofthe information age is that while in the short run it may be cheaper to replace workers withtechnology, in the long run it is potentially self-destructive because there will not be enoughpurchasing power to grow the economy,' M. B. Zuckerman. My feeling is that the trendfrom unskilled labor to highly technical, skilled labor is a good one! But, political actionmust be taken to ensure that this societal evolution is beneficial to all of us. 'Back in 1970,a high school diploma could still be a...

Free sample - Personal profiling. translation missing
Personal profiling. Personal profilingStewart, Andrew. Age: 43, a former drug addict. Dark haired, brown eyed male with an inclination to deep philosophical meditations and melancholy. The resident of a neighboring house, used to be a member of an adolescent gangster group. Accused several times of light drug possession, however was not sentenced into prison. The most significant is that he is the talented musician, plays bass guitar, can sing well. Used to play in a teen-age rock band. Had several prizes for the contribution into the fight against the blood cancer, as far as his younger sister still suffers from leucosis. In childhood used to suffer from dyslexia together with his sister. To overcome the disorder, he plunged into reading the classic literature, learning Latin, and playing hockey at the local skating rink. In childhood was quite an unsociable and self-contained, however, angel-like boy with exotic appearance. In adolescent years experienced the problems with the female sex due to his mo desty, shyness and uncertainty. Due to that was sometimes accused of homosexuality in his maturity years. Had the only one friend, with whom they shared drug affection and spent the best part of their youth years. After the friendââ¬â¢s death, caused by the drug overdose, became sullen and reserved. From time to time drank much and was often caught on the drinking spree. For many years he had no his own apartment, he was hiding from the entire world at his motherââ¬â¢s house or at hotels. The closest friends now are his mother and his ill younger sister. In addition, he is the left hander, though plays guitar with his right hand. Sometimes experience the attacks of depression and melancholy. He is not a verbose, but communicative and friendly person. Never talks badly about the people, always compliments his job partners and the leadership. This person is the workaholic in its extreme manifestation. According to the colleaguesââ¬â¢ comments, he is considered to be the hard case of an ultimately disciplined workaholic perfectionist. He gets upset if something does not work. The point is that he likes to work and it saves him in the periods of his deepest depressions. Moreover, he always says whatever he considers to be right straightly, but really tactfully. Colleagues added that Andrew is equal to everyone, notwithstanding the fact that he possesses quite an ill temper and is strange enough. Close relatives claim him to be ultimately extreme person in relation to his major passions ââ¬â motorcycles. Used to crash nearly to death, he still rides a motorcycle. He possesses three of them and has a car. This very person experienced numerous motorcycle accidents and, hence has many scars over his body. Used to get into an accident that resulted in dislocation of the cervical spine, however, he passed through the surgery successfully. According to the closest friendââ¬â¢s comments, he can cry without a reason or experience aggression in the case of abusing by calling him a homosexual. He is still a bachelor, though the claims of homosexuality are not warrant due to the fact that he had several beloved in his mature life. He neglects fashion, spends all money on his sisterââ¬â¢s treatment. He does smoke, though he did not smoke while using drugs. The most significant is that Andrew managed to give up the deadly habit without any special rehabilitation. He gave up drug consumption after his friendââ¬â¢s death. That very moment of his life, according his own words, became the turning point and taught him a terrible lesson. However, his new addiction became speed and fast wind into the face on the motorcycle trip. He still suffers because of the sisterââ¬â¢s disease and makes everything possible to prolong her life. He leads quite life and almost has no personal life. I believe he made an impression on the world by means of being a really extraordinary man, controversial and at the same time very diverse. He may be called a misanthrope. Nevertheless, he became an exquisite person with his own grief. I hope each of us can find something similar in our own lives; however, Andrew leads abnormal way of life. He is an example of anti stereotype and anti biased person

HipHop music Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
HipHop music - Assignment Example However, Billy Watson lived an isolated life, and he could not roam freely like the black kids. At 6th grade, a black student asked him to listen to rap music that gave him the desire to join the hip-hop world. He started drifting from the white culture and requested his parents to transfer him to a black public school, something they obliged. He admired the large sneaker laces, gold jewelry and graffiti that was part of the hip-hop culture. He started buying fat sneaker laces and wearing fake gold. He practiced what other hip-hop artists were doing and soon he was a popular graffiti artist. As he grew up, he associated more with black people than with fellow whites. He toured colleges to preach the message of unity by practicing the hip-hop culture. Wimsatt hated his white culture and lived like a black and in most cases teaching against the white culture. Elliot Watson was born in a mixed family. His mother was Greek while his father was black. Watson attended white schools, and his parents wanted him to live a life like that of the whites. However, he was uneasy with the white culture, and he remained isolated in school and at home. His parents prevented him from getting involved in street life and therefore he loved watching TV most of the times. While at home, he had a growing love for hip-hop and in most times he listened to popular hip-hop artists over the radio. His parents even bought him a set of Technics 1200 turntables and mixer.

Read the case study below Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Read the case study below - Essay Example This in turn affects the motivational level of customers, who are to be looking at the professional employee as an example of organizational leadership, but see only in the burnt-out employee an expression of fatalism or giving up, along with signs of frustration and even associated depressive symptoms such as wanting to sleep all the time. In other words, the average employee who has been in the profession for some time is often burnt out through emotional exhaustion, which may have occurred due to several factors. They will treat clients differently in this state of burnout and they will have a reduced sense of accomplishment. The consideration for informal groups can aid in mentoring opportunities for Western Motels, to solve this motivation problem. A mentoring program blends together elements of environmental impact and interpersonal communication skills. It posits that the formulation of a mentor relationship can help a new maid like this contextualize their own directions within a workplace amid competing issues by following the pattern of another individual. Mentoring can help new employees develop new skills. Often, the mentoring relationship can vastly benefit both parties. Employee motivation is a major problem in many organizations. ââ¬Å"Motivation should relate to individual needs. For instance, a staff member who enjoys collaborating with others may prefer team goals; an independent worker will strive for individual objectives.â⬠(Messmer, 2005). It is true that personal identity and pride in the job should be given top priority in redesigning the position of hotel maid, so I would keep in mind that maids need their cognitive capacities served too; they are not just manual laborers. ââ¬Å"If we remember that the cognitive capacities (perceptual, intellectual, learning) are a set of adjustive toolsâ⬠¦ then it is clear that any danger to them, any deprivation or blocking of their free use, must

Live Theatre Critique of Junie B. Jones Essay Example for Free
Live Theatre Critique of Junie B. Jones Essay It wasnt fancy like most theatres. It reminded my of a high school auditorum. They had the stage set up like a class room for the scene they were doing first. The first part of the play was set up like an classroom, and the second part pf the play was set up like a bookstore. The pre-show music that was playing was soft chrismas music. Not much singing just mostly instumental. As I was expecting, there were more children then teenagers. Parents and grandparents were there, but as for ages that attended, it was mostly children. Before the show began, the producers asked everyone to turn off their cell phones and anything with a distracting light. The show was mostly dark so any bright lights would distract the play. The play ran smoothly nothung distratcing happened. The plot of the play was about a girl named Junie B. Jones who was stuck between buying gifts for others or herself. Her parents gave her enough money to go to the book store and buy gifts for her family. Once she went to the book store, she laid her eyes on something she wanted for herself. The toy was called a squeeze a burp. Meanwhile, in class the teacher decided for the students to draw names of others in the class to buy gifts for. With her luck, she drew Mays name. May is a girl in Junie B. class that does not get along with her. They always fight and get in trouble. Junie B. just had to have that toy for herself. She went home and asked her grandpa Miller for some money and he gave it to her. She now had enough money to buy gifts for her family and herself. She decided that she was going to give May some ashes because she was a mean girl and didnt deserve any gifts. She end up buying the squeeze a burp toy for herself. As the children were putting the gifts in each other stocking she stated to think to herself is what she doing is right. Junie B. decided to do right so she could be on Santas nice list and gave May the squeeze a burp toy. The girls ended up being friends at the end and they played with the toy that Junie B had bought. The characters in the play behaved exzactly like they should have for this play. They portrayed a typical child in school. Selfish and argumenative with each others at time. The main characters of the play were Junie B. Jones, played by Brooke Bryant and May who was played by Cori Anne Laemmel. I think the genre of the play was comedy. Many of the scenes acted out in the play had not only the children laughing, but also the adults has well. Throughout the play Junie B and May did not get along as much. Junie B was also being selfish towards others than herself. The play was trying to accomplish friendship between the two girls and also teach Junie B not to be selfish, but giving. Through out the play they played christmas music, and music that inspired the things that were going on during that scene. They also played special effects sounds for certain parts. The part where Junie B gets into trouble, they played a noise that you would expect to here when someone is getting in to trouble or is doing something they shouldnt be doing. They also had great use of the lighting effects. There were parts of the play were Junie B would talk to her self as she were talking in her head. They would put a spot light on her and black everything else out so that you know that it is ment only for the audience to here and not the other characters. The director Peter Vann did a wounderful job in directing the play. He made sure that it felt as if the characters were actually children instead of adults. They played it well putting their self in a childs place. Each character acted out their lines perfectly. If any mistakes were made I didnt notice. Their tone and body language went well with their emotins and expressions that they had to act out. Having a little knowledge about Junie B, I would have never expected for her to buy May a gift or for them to get a long in the play. Brooke Bryant did a great interpetation of Junie B. Her voiced matched her personality of a snooty, selfish girl that thinks she knows it all. I think that Brooke Bryant and Cori Laemmel held their chacter of the girls very well. There were parts of the play whene they had to do or say funny things and they did it without laughing and remained in character. Brooke Bryant broke the forth wall in a scene where she was in the spot light talking to her self. But I think that it was part of the play for her to do that. Maybe to get the audience involved or just to make contact with the children to make them laugh. I noticed that many of the children enjoyed the play. The costume designer Patricia Taber did a good job designing the costumes. Each costume fitted each of the characters personalty that was being portrayed. Their was a rich girl in the class named Lucille and her costume was a pretty dress that looked expensive. Since her charcter was a rich girl, her fancy dress showed that she came from money without her having to say anything about it. I would definatly recommed this play to a friend or a family memeber that has children or have read any of the Junie B Jones books. The play ended on the note that Junie B and May finally got along and Junie B felt proud of herself for doing what she did. After that scene I thought the play was over. Brooke Byant, the character of Junie B began to sing. I didnt expect to her such beautiful singing. All the charcters joined togther and began singing a christmas song. They said Merry christmas and bowed and then the play was over. My favorite part of the play was at the end when they start singing. I didnt expect for them to sing at all and especially not the way they did. The play was a huge successe and I would defintaly go see it again.

The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf Essay -- Papers
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf "The Death of the Moth," written by Virginia Woolf, explains the brief life of a moth corresponding with the true nature of life and death. In this essay, Woolf puts the moth in a role that represents life. Woolf makes comparisons of the life outside to the life of the moth. The theme is the mystery of death and the correspondence of the life of the moth with the true nature of life. The images created by Woolf are presented that appeal to the eye. For instance, the moth's body during the death is appealing to the eye. The image makes the reader more interested. The essence of true life is energy. As Woolf describes, "I could fancy that a thread of vital light became visible. He was little or nothing but life" (Woolf 427). The thread of vital light represents the energy. Woolf employs several stylistic devices that make the essay more interesting to the reader. The changing in tone, lengthy sentence structure, and personification are three devices that are significant in the essay. Throughout the essay the tone changes by Wool...

Early Pregnancy
The Internet ! Teenagers nowadays have so many problems. One of the most common problems is big occupation with the Internet. Teenagers use it every day but not in a good way. The fact is that we canââ¬â¢t imagine one day without the Internet, but children today use it for things which donââ¬â¢t have a good influence on them. For example , kids spend few hours every day playing computer games. They donââ¬â¢t learn anything good from it. Years ago children used to spend all of their free time to hang out with each other, but nowadays they spend all of it to chat online with their friends.Thatââ¬â¢s the worst thing with Internet. They spend their childhood with the ââ¬Ë peace of technology ââ¬Ë , not with real people. It would be the best if parents took care of their children and thought more what they do in their free time. They should restrict their time and in that way they could have more time for something that are important in their life. On the other side we n eed Internet for everything today. The bright side of the Internet is that we can get intouch with our cousins and friends form other countries by skype.Unsociable children Big problem of children nowadays is that they have problems with finding friends. Itââ¬â¢s really hard for them to find someone who will understand and support them in every way. The Internet , that Iââ¬â¢ve just written about has a big influence on their sociable life,so theyââ¬â¢re often lonely and feel depressive all the time. They watch lots of movies that are not suitable for their age and they think itââ¬â¢s okay to do those things.Because they donââ¬â¢t have friends and feel depressive , they become aggressive and often donââ¬â¢t find their soulmates. Early Pregnancy In considering an article on ââ¬Å"Early Pregnancy: Normal and Abnormalâ⬠for a monograph on ultrasound in reproductive medicine and infertility, several issues arise. It is essential that the sonologist or sonographer understand what early pregnancy looks like on transvaginal ultrasound and why it looks like that, so that one can distinguish early pregnancies that are normal from those absolutely destined to fail.Regardless of the level, if any, of assisted reproduction, the use of ultrasound in early pregnancy begins with basic physiology and anatomy. Most often, the patient with an issue of questionable fertility is well-known to the medical establishment, highly motivated, compliant, and usually follows any instruction offered. More often than not, the biochemical evidence of a pregnancy event (i. e. , detection of human chorionic gonadotropin in blood or urine) precedes our ability to see the pregnancy sonographically. In fact, the gap between biochemical detection (as earl y as 30 to 50 mIU/mL) often from over-the-counter home pregnancy tests and our ability to detect a pregnancy even with the sonomicroscopy of the vaginal probe has widened in the recent past. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is produced by trophoblastic tissue. It is detectable 8 days after conception. [1] Conventional over-the-counter home pregnancy tests turn positive at around the time of the missed menses (30 to 50 mIU/mL). It is often erroneously referred to as the ââ¬Å"beta subunitâ⬠or simply the ââ¬Å"betaâ⬠although most current tests measure the intact hCG molecule. The ? subunit was originally described to distinguish it from the ? subunit, something that is shared with other molecules such as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). Normally, hCG doubles every 48 hours, although a minimum rate of rise is 53 to 66%[2,3] in 48 hours. It is essential to realize that apparently normal doubling times of hCG do not ensure an intrauterine location, as 15 to 20% of ectopi c pregnancies can follow normal doubling times of hCG, and these are ones that often end up with a beating heart and normal appearance, although extrauterine in location Early Pregnancy The Internet ! Why Boarding School Should Be Abolished
ENGLISH PROJECT WORK GROUP 4: BOARDING SCHOOLS SHOULD BE ABOLISHED (AGAINST THE MOTION) Mr. Chairman, Panel of Judges, Invited Guests, Accurate Time Keeper. Co Debators, Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to speak against the motion before the house thatââ¬â¢ Boarding schools should be abolished. ââ¬â¢ Boarding schools, for some years now, have been given bad names because of fictitious stories and ideas. I would like to prove these untrue. My opponent tried in vain to give points on why boarding schools should be abolished. They expressed that boarding students have less free time. They also mentioned that extracurricular activities and athletic events fill up the student's hours. Not to forget, these same activities help in the development of mental and physical ability which helps a lot in academics as a whole. Day students do not really have such opportunities. Also, it is incorrect that boarding students are stressed and unhappy . This statement is very delusional. In 2007, a survey was taken nationwide on this topic on students who had been to both day and boarding learning institutions and 7 out of 10 said they were much happier on the whole in boarding school. With these points successfully refuted, I would also like to raise a few points on my own. Mr. Chairman, it is quite obvious that the level of discipline in boarding schools is much higher than that of day ones. This is because students are under the watchful eyes of teachers and other school workers. Their days are also planned out completely filled with tasks and chores which prepares them for the future. Being respected and accepted in society as an adult depends on the training you receive as a child. Such training can be acquired from boarding schools. Students are put in an environment where they learn to socialize and interact with their peers and school faculty. This is less easy in day schools. Mr. Chairman, academic success is much more prevalent in boarding schools. For over 20 years now, they have come out with an 89. % rate on the average which is much higher than the 74% percent results from day schools. This is as a result of better learning resources, availability of teachers at any time, attention to students and regular supervised study periods. Teenage students learn independence, responsibility, respectfulness, team work, amongst many other values which are very essential in the real world as an adult. For parents who lack time to be at home and take of their w ards due to busy schedules, boarding schools come to a huge sigh of relief to them. Not only are their children well taken care of in a safe environment, they also learn things they would have probably never learnt from them. It is therefore no surprise that most of Ghana creme de la creme in all sectors went to boarding schools. Mr. Chairman, to name a few, His Excellency John Atta Mills, former president John Kuffuor and former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and even their wards all attended boarding schools. Mr. Chairman, with these irrefutable points that have been advanced, there is no alternative but to vote against the motion thatââ¬â¢ Boarding schools should be abolished. ââ¬â¢

This Is Not Hollywood Professor Ramos Blog
This Is Not Hollywood Woman Hollering Creek Woman Hollering Creek is an excellent narration of the journey of a woman named Cleofilas whos dreams are disclosed through her consciousness. She would dream about getting swept off her feet by her future husband, just like in the telenovelas. So when the opportunity came, Cleofilas married Juan Pedro and moved off to America from Mexico. Before she left, her father told her, I am your father, and Ill never abandon you (Cisneros 43), A quote that she will remember later down the line. They move to a town called Seguin, in Texas, the city of nasty gossips, dust, and despair, where Cleofilas has to gradually learn that the community life she cherished before moving north no longer exists. She believes that the town foundation is built so that wives have to depend on husbands for a ride or stay home. There is nothing for a woman to walk to no supportive church, no leafy town square, and no friendly shops. While the time passes, she begins realizing that this is not what she was expecti ng, and Juan Pedro is not the man who she envisioned. Juan Pedro, in reality, is a sexist man who beats his wife eventually she realizes that she needs to escape this life that Juan Pedro has made for her, and go back to Mexico to her family. Thanks to the help from a firm independent woman name Felice. She has a chance to go back to her father along with her children, and on the journey, knowing that there are strong women like Felipe who dont follow the social norms like on the telenovelas. She admires Felipe for being independent and wonders if she could be like that too. The author purposes for writing this story is to prompt the readers ideas of romantic love, woman role in a masculine culture, and expectation Vs. Reality. As a young woman, Cleofilas would dream about finding her prince charming, finding true love Passion in its purest crystalline essence (Cisneros 44). A situation like this is common when it comes to a young teenager because of movies, and television it gives the viewer expectations about how love is. According to cultivation theory, viewers who are repeatedly exposed to romantic content in media should, over time, adopt beliefs about the real world that are similar to the themes featured in the storylines (Gerbner, Gross, Morgan, Signorielli, Shanahan, 2002). As for Cleofilas, when she met Juan Pedro, it was love at first sight, just like in the movies. A good comparison to her situation is the frozen movie when the main character, Anna, meets Han. They immediately take a liking to each other. When trouble falls upon the kingdom, Anna decides to leave Han in charge, A man that she only knew for a short time, while she goes to save her sister. Little does she know that Han was a hoax , and she gave him the perfect opportunity to take over the kingdom. In our story, Cleofilas meets Juan Pedro only for a short period before he asks her to marry him. Cleofilas knowing that this is rushed still agree to marry him because he doesnt know when shell get another opportunity again, and she wants that telenovelas life. As time goes on, she began to question the reality of the relationship. There was not enough reason yet to give up on the relationship she still believes the trope I believe if another person and I love each other, we can overcome any differences and problems that may arise (V. Hefner B. J. Wilson 164). This trope is a huge problem when it comes to television; it gave the idea no matter how bad the relationship gets love conquers all, and Cleofilas is holding on to that expectation. Reality is the world or the state of things as they exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notion idea of them. A moment in the story when reality set in is when the author recalls and he slapped her, and then again, and again; until the lip split and bled an orchid of blood, she didnt fight back, she didnt break into tears, she didnt run away as she imagined she might when she saw such things in the telenovelas (Cisneros 47). At this moment, Cleofilas mind begins to question the idealistic relationship and the Telenovelas. She realized it was not as simple as just picking up your belonging, and leaving there a physical, and emotional connection that cannot be severed so easily. She starts asking herself if this is the man she wants to be with the rest of her life. Every day from that point on Cleofilas questions why she loves him saying things like he isnt a good man, he doesnt even help with the baby, and hes nothing like the men on the telenovelas (Cisneros 49). The expectations th at she had been through, and now, reality has set in. She starts seeing the true nature of this town, how it made for women to rely on men. They have no place to go no car to drive all they can do is cater to their husbands. As the time when on she had had enough, and decided to do something about her reality. After that, a named Graciela asked for a favor to her friend Felice to get Cleofilas to the bus station. While on their way, Cleofilas realized that Felice was not the norm of a woman like she saw on the telenovelas. Felice was a confident woman who had her pick up a truck and worked for everything. Cleofilas admired seeing the reality of a strong woman in this world right in front of her face. Woman Hollering Creek is about a woman realizing that the world reality and television expectations are far part. The television expectation puts a false ideal into a young woman mind about what a relationship should be, that the prince may not be prince charming. That the reality of th e world is cold, and sometimes doesnt have those fairytale endings, but you control your destiny. Hefner, Veronica, and BarbaraJ. The Process of Faith according to Luther Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The Process of Faith according to Luther - Essay Example A person has to hear the Word of God and His promises and apply them. Doing this will develop the kind of faith that Luther would want to consider as the impact of the Gospel of Christ. Luther himself is compelled to believe this strong reliance on the Word of God which has become the ultimate reason of his faith. According to him, ââ¬Å"Where the Word of God is missing there is no help at all for the soulâ⬠(Luther, Lambert and Grimm 6). This depicts the fact that Luther fully experienced the power of the Word of God that he totally gave up his innermost being by total submission to Godââ¬â¢s divine control through His words. Faith comes from outside based on Lutherââ¬â¢s discourse because of the fact that the Word of God has to be shared and it is a matter of choice among individuals if they would allow them to enter into their inmost being. This only means that in order for faith to be developed inside of a person, one needs to hear the Word of God first, and come to i nternalize everything so that there would be acceptance of Godââ¬â¢s voice which is going to be internal. The process is that everything should start outside prior to reaching the internal aspect by which faith could totally reveal its powers in the life of a person. Luther therefore tries to emphasize faith as a kind of belief system develops under a process allowing somebody to be saved and justified before God. For Luther, ââ¬Å"Faith alone is the saving and efficacious use of the Word of Godâ⬠¦Furthermore, Christ is the end of the law, that everyone who has faith may be justifiedâ⬠[Rom. 10:4] (Luther, Lambert and Grimm 7). This clearly depicts that faith is indeed powerful to make a difference in the life of an individual. Luther mentioned some ideas on the powers of faith. For him, when one accepts the Word and what it promises, the power of faith is illustrated. Luther said, ââ¬Å"God our Father has made all things depend on faith so that whoever has faith will have everything, and whoever does not have faith will have nothingâ⬠(Luther, Lambert and Grimm 13). In addition, Luther added that faith allows one to trust, obey and honor God. He said, ââ¬Å"It is further function of faith that it honors Him whom it trust with the most reverent and highest regard since it considers Him truthful and trustworthy (Luther, Lambert and Grimm 15). The power of faith is evident to our being one with Christ as brides, giving us the benefit for our sould to be in marriage with Him. Luther added, ââ¬Å"The third incomparable benefit of faith is that it unites the soul with Christ as a bride in united with her bridegroomâ⬠(Luther, Lambert and Grimm 18). The above powers of faith has its bottom line on giving life to a Christian. Therefore, without such faith in a Christian life, a person could never sustain his walk with God. In fact, Luther tries to emphasized the point that faith gives hope to a person (Luther, Lambert and Grimm 6). It tries to revive the soul as it justifies every Christian before God. Therefore, without faith, through a remarkable belief in Jesus, a person would be good as nothing. It is therefore imporatnt that every Christian should be able to find the very important sources of faith. Based on the above discussion, it is clear that the gospel of Christ is one essential source of faith. Christ teachings are very important for the development of a personââ¬â¢s faith. Without such gospel, it is hard for the person to be convicted with Godââ¬â¢

To be discussed Dissertation Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
To be discussed - Dissertation Example Although this approach was first taught by American thinkers Deming and Juran in 1950s, Americans had not adopted and taken advantage of it (Nakamura et al. 1997). Later in the years, evolution of the JIT principles took place which was integrated in the automobile industry and other manufacturing industries which functioned on the TQM framework (Nakamura et al. 1997). The Western civilization implemented these two approaches in reverse order with JIT preceding TQM. Although these two approaches have been independently implemented very often, they are also used in integration for many operations. Theoretical Framework It is because of the Japanese that the industrial world revolutionized given their two approaches: TQM and JIT. Both these concepts have similar principles and goals which aim to continuous improvement and waste reduction (Flynn et al. 1995). TQM is a set of manufacturing principles that aim to sustain the quality of the products and processes by continuously improving it with the involvement of the management, customers and suppliers (Cua et al. 2001). There are nine TQM practices that are common in its principles: customer involvement, supplier quality management, committed leadership, cross-functional product design, cross-functional training, strategic planning, information, employee involvement and feedback (Cua et al. 2001). ... JIT is an important strategic element in the manufacturing process because of the waste produced in the mass production system such as waiting (in time), processing, transporting, overproducing, unnecessary stock-on-hand, defective goods production and unnecessary motion (Cua et al. 2001). If JIT is implemented, the result would be no excess production without demand. Thus, the element of waste elimination is justification for JIT to be implemented in any process of manufacturing (Nakamura et al. 1997). The strategic importance of both these concepts exists in its usage if integrated with the management and adopted in conjunction with the advanced technology in manufacturing combined with TQM and JIT approaches (Cua et al. 2001). According to Flynn et al. (1995), the benefits of JIT can only be harnessed if the philosophy is part of the TQM philosophy. This is because together TQM and JIT are capable of pushing the problems back to the starting point of the manufacturing process unti l a point is identified as preventable (Flynn et al. 1995). It is a simple philosophy that every problem has a reason and every reason is therefore avoidable. Therefore, in order words, the philosophy of TQM/JIT rests on the principle that if the problem is detected soon, it can be fixed in the timely manner (Kanan and Tan, 2005). Although the idea of incorporating different elements of different philosophies is not always acceptable as a wise choice as limited empirical research exists on its link with performance, still it is believed and proved by different authors that the TQM and JIT elements can provide positive results in the performance of
